Recruitment Day!
Woah! I woke up at 7am to go to a series of recruitment events...
First Stop: Qatar Airway Recruitment @ Hilton
This Middle East Airline is recruiting cabin crew and successful candidates will be posted to Doha. Woah~ Most people there were wearing formal, we were the only few who weren't in formal. Well, actually i was going to wear Smart Casual but last min i changed my mind. So yeah~ we were really looking like oddballs there.
Qatar Recruitment started off with a series of presentations to sell the company rather than going straight into the recruitment. Kinda boring but necessary cos we will be posted to Doha! So we went off halfway... Dun need to waste time!
Second Stop: Career Fair @ Marriott
Just some career exhibitions stuff... Nth much but get to know some personnel at a more 'personal' level. Haha! Actually this career fair is kinda stupid la... Cos they just said, please go to our website for more information... (-_-") If so, why do we have to register just to get in? And not everyone who registered will be able to get the confirmation. The whole thing was so messed up! I registered for the talks at a much later date than my friend. But she cant get the talks and i did! I saw S.Y there too.. She also said the whole system was messed up. Geez....
Third Stop: SIA Recruitment @ Shrelaton Towers Singapore
Haha~ This is the fun part! There were about thousand over ppl wanted to be SIA Girls/Guys! Intially, i really do not want to queue up le~ Bt then i tot, since i have already came all the way here, may as well just join in the fun.
Anyway, comparing the quality of SIA applicants to Qatar applicants, I would say Qatar has more quality candidates than SIA. There are alot of bimbos-looking gals in SIA and most do not have qi zi de. Yes sure, they are pretty (in fact 90% of them are pretty gals), but they just lacked of something.
So well after passing the height, arm-reached and basic qualifications examination, we were then seperated into groups and wait to be escorted into another room to watch the SIA video. Oh, I met an interesting gal when we were watching the video! We rambled tat our parents tot that air-stewardess are the worst on job on earth and blah blah.. Haha~ Then she asked me to apply for JAL. Bt i was like.. wat the! Japan Airline even more stringent in their recruitment! But she said i should go and try cos' i looked abit like Japanese. I was like.... (-_-") Anyway, we were both here to have fun and see what's the process is like. Bt i think, she is more eager to be SIA girl than me.
So after awhile, we proceeded to Interview2 - Panel Interview. We have to give a short description of ourselves aka sell yourself. Well, we have about 8 - 10 of us in a group and only 1 of them get in. I think they selected her because, she really conveyed her passion to be an air-stewardess and she sounded serious. Wherelse, it is quite obvious that the rest of us are here to either accompanied our friends or just to gain experience.
And woo~ it's really an experience! But i think it is also not very healthy for one if you keep attending this kind of recruitment fairs. Cos it will give you 不实际的幻想. Either that or you will be more motivated to be an air-stewardess just to prove everyone wrong!
Anyway i have been there, done that. So next time, if anyone asked why i do not want to go be an air-stewardess,
i will tell them, 'I did! Bt they dun want me!' Hahaha!
